Yes but if you don't have a road serice that can handle your Class A, then guess how much a tow will cost you? A whole lot more than $100 . If you go wiyh Progressive, make sure that you ask if they can handle a large Motor home. If you go with AAA, I think you better check to see if they can a handle a big rig. My guess is that who ever writes the policy for AAA or Progressive has no idea what you are talking about when you ask, "Can your service tow a Motor Home?" They are just as they say, AAA stands for American AUTOMOBILE Asso. So be informed before you buy is all I am trying to say.

othertonka is exactly correct. I don't know much about Progressive and they might be good. But ask them if they will tow or have equipment to load it up on a flatbed.
My daughter had AAA and she blew the transmission on her truck last year between Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nev. So she called AAA to tow her truck and travel trailer. When they got there they refused to tow the truck and travel trailer. They wanted the trailer to be left on the side of the road. My daughter told them to forget it. It ended up costing her over six hundred dollars to have her truck and trailer towed about forty five miles back to Las Vegas.
I know you are asking about Progressive, and I can't give you an answer on them.
I have Coach-Net and they are the best as far as I am concerned.

I have only Progressive. Needed tow one time and they were great. paid for tow and called to see if I was satisfied. I don't believe they offer tech advice, I have always called MFR for tech service. I have a 36 foot Holiday Vacationer.

Attained insurance through Progressive and was planning on getting a roadside assistance program. During my conversation with Progressive they said they provide that as part of my policy. I am curious if anyone has used their service and how it was. Also, does anyone suggest an additional program in case we have any problems?
Thanks

I guess I'm a little confused. Why are folks trying to sell Coach Net? Yes, we know it is good. The question though is, for 1/3 the cost, is Progressive good too? From the posts on this forum, it seems that Progressive does a good job with motorhomes. That is what convinced me to go with them. I would certainly hope that people are happy with Coachnet given that it costs three times as much money!!

So that infers he is looking for feedback.. whether it be Progressive, COACH-NET or whatever else is out there. Hopefully enough feedback to "HELP" him with his decision. Personally I trust & believe Greg will do what is best for him and his family.
BTW: Greg if I have misled you, I apologize...
Ya'll take care.

I had to have a tow in Nebraska this past august on vacation. The wrecker made my 36 ft DP look SMALL!!! It was capable of lifting 16,000 pound at 160 inch extension to "wheel lift" my rig...and the operator tole me he could get 18,000 in the air but it made the front end of the wrecker "light"...
My cost thru Coach Net...nothing. HIS BILL...$425.. . I'll pay the $100 a year..you betchum!!

For what it is worth "HAD" AAA they couldn't provide service for a tire change in Indianapolis, IN or Peoria, IL. Needless to say I no longer have RV Plus..

I have Progressive, but realized too late I did not have Roadside assistance with them. I do have Good Sam ERS and had occassion to ask for assistance recently.
Driving a Monaco DP 40'SFT from Houston, TX to Atlanta, GA, got to I-285 in Atlanta and thought I hit something. Immediately the "ALTERNATOR FAILURE" light and warning tones came on, followed almost immediately by "LOW BATTERY" light and warning tones, and then "ENGINE OVERHEAT" warning and tones. All different tones, BTW. Lots of alarms going off!
I thought, "Shoot, the fan belt broke." Pulled immediately off an exit and into a huge Pilot truck stop, and around to their service center. The Service Manager crawled beneath the coach (I had on nice clothes), came out and said, "Friend, you're screwed."
The fan pulley bearings had failed, allowing the entire fan to tilt forward and down. The fan blades hit the crankshaft pulley and shattered. Shards of the fan blades went through the radiator. Dogs started sleeping with cats, well you know, the story got bad.
I called Progressive first. The operator said, "Are you okay." I said, "Yes." He said, "What happened in the accident." I said it wasn't an accident but a breakdown. He said, "We only cover towing if there's an accident."
I then called Good Sam ERS. It was a Friday four weeks ago, 4-ish pm. Told the guy that answered what my problem was. He said he'd send a mechanic and I'd have to pay for parts and labor, but that ERS doesn't pay for towing and that I ought to call Monaco. Yeah, call Monaco. I didn't have internet at the moment, but said I thought GS ERS covered towing. He emphatically said no and wouldn't help look up a tow company in Atlanta. He seemed to think my situation was funny. At the moment, I didn't see the humor.
Let's see, new motorhome, less than 7000 miles, major breakdown and no help on the horizon...nope, still not funny. No, wait. No, still not funny.
I called Cummins. Got a great guy at their PowerSouth shop. They didn't cover towing, but he said they would cover everything else. I paid $765 out of pocket for the tow.
The following Monday, armed with the Internet (No out-of-pocket $$$ for towing), I called Good Sam, got a nice guy who says, "Yes, we cover towing and I'll send you a claim form." I received a letter yesterday which stated that a check is on the way.
I can't say enough good about Cummins and Cummins Atlanta PowerSouth. Had you asked on Friday four weeks ago, I couldn't say enough about Progressive and Good Sam. I haven't received the check, so there isn't an end of the story yet.
Regardless what plan you go with, print out what your benefits are and carry all contact telephone numbers and have your VIN handy.
Bud
