I have a Itasca 40AD with surround sound. Previous owner gutted all the electronics (above the old Tube-type TV). I have new electronics (DVD player / surround sound amp).

I am putting it back together - and for the life of me I can't find where the speaker wires are located. All the speakers are there - as is the Subwoofer..

thanks

Alan,
Winnebago has many downloadable files on their web site. Wiring, plumbing, 12v, 110v schematics are available. Here is the link:

I'm pretty sure you'll find a set of plans for your entertainment center. Hope this helps somewhat.

Udornf4, gotta love it! For me it would read UbonK9cop.

Up in the area where the electronics were, there should be a 12 pin AMP connector. The wires should run in pairs and each pair serves a speaker.
I believe radio shack carries a mating connector for this.

On my 05 Winnabago adventurer, I replaced the old TV with a new Digital LCD TV. When I pulled out the old TV I noticed 2 wires coming from the back of the TV with RCA connectors. Upon pulling the case off the TV I found they were wired to the speakers inside the TV. I got no surround sound from the new TV, until I removed the outside casing and soldered those wires to the internal speakers. When connecting the RCA connectors I had surround sound. This is apparently a short cut that Winnabago uses.(Not included in wiring diagrams I downloaded)

I took a look - no 12 pin connector anywhere. This really has me disturbed, being an Electrical Engineer, I thought this would be easy.

Also, yes, I downloaded the wiring diagram, pretty hard to follow.
a PICTURE of the wiring would be good...but Winnebago does do many pictures...

Then the only other thing I can suggest would be to drop a speaker to see what kind of wire they used, that might give you a little something to look for. (For example, a grey/green twisted pair) I found my subwoofer that way.

Alan,

What year Itasca do you have?

The Winnies around 5 yrs back used a pseudo-surround sound system, not a true one. It took the output from the TV through a noise suppressor to a unit that on my 2004 Vectra is in a bay. From there the speaker wires go out to the various speakers in the surround sound system.

You won't see a 5 or 6 pair set of speaker wires coming from the TV in those systems, just a simple RCA plug from the TV audio out going into the noise suppressor and from there to the River Park sound system.
