On my new Jayco Flight there is a nice spot to sit a TV, a small shelf that matches the counter top. I bought a wall mount, but using a stud finder I don't think there is a stud back there. What is the usual way of securing TV's to shelfs during travel ?? All this is new to me. Thanks

There are some stick-down straps & buckles that work extremely well. I've used 4 of them to mount a crt tv and it never shifted. Gotta do that again with a new flat screen tv. Cost I think is about $10-12 for enough to do the trick. Maybe use more if the tv is very large.

Toggle bolts for a hollow wall where you CAN'T get to the back side to add a backing plate.

If toggle bolts worry you, maybe your could use a backing plate big enough to catch a stud with a couple of screws in addition to the toggles. And/or if it's up under a cabinet or something, use an angle bracket or two. I used all three...toggles, screws, angle bracket...overkill, maybe, but also peace of mind that it won't fall down.

I just take the TV down off the shelf and put it on the bed for travel... I also like viewing the TV from different locations depending on what's going on, so having it 'mobile' is very convenient for me...

Went to an RV show a couple of week ago. Installing flat screen TV's on the wall seems to be the rage.
Half dozen brands had them mounted on the wall. ALL of them were sagging and then rubbed the wall when stowing. Improper installation? Don't think I want one hanging on the wall, JMO.

When I bought my 32" I just drilled holes threw the TV base and the table for the TV and bolted it down, I will just sell the TV with the trailer when the time comes that way I dont have to worry about the holes.

Do you have a BH? I have a Jayco 26BH, the wall between the bunks and the dining area has a horizontal stud to support the upper bunk. I installed a wall mount there (under the original tv cabinet)to hold my 15" LCD and it is very sturdy, not to mention there are no stiff necks from looking up into that cabinet.
If you search this site you will find pics of others and how they installed theirs.

We just put our 19" LCD TV in the bed under the covers for travel. Has never moved from the spot it starts in. When we get to our destination, we setup the TV and AppleTV on the existing shelf and are good to go.

Having the 26BH, I'm assuming you have the labeled section of the bedroom wall that will accept a TV mount too, right? Have you ever mounted a TV in there?
