My son and I just noticed that his coach was dropped all the way down(just like if you dumped the air) but the air wasn't dumped. He pulled in last night and shut down. Today I noticed the lowered coach and asked if he dumped his air. What could cause this? Its an 08 Fleetwood discovery on a freightliner chassis. He fired it up and it immediately aired up. Any thoughts?

How long does it take to leak down?
The faster the leak down, the easier it is to find the leak-- find a quiet area, shut it off with full air pressure and LISTEN. If not a large leak, get some kiddie liquid bubbles (a special tool for RV's!) and a small foam paint brush and go over all the fittings.

Let Fleetwood find the leak, why should you have to spend time watching bubbles?

Had a similar leak this past April ( sorry Brett for not replying on this ) The leak could be heard from under the dash area. I checked all the outside areas with no success. Took it to a freightliner service center and they found in the gage cluster, one of the fittings on one of the gauges had been over tightened and cracked the threads. Replaced the gage and no more leaks. 08 Allegro Bus, Freightliner chassis. Hope yours is an easy find.

I had the same kind of leak and it was one of the fittings on an air bag that was loose.

It could also be your leveler valve. Sometimes the check valves in there go out, causing it to droop. Othertimes it is just a fitting, and it is not fun finding most of those. I am trying to track one down right now, and it is tough.
God bless,

The air system supports both the air suspension and air brakes. You have an air leak for sure. When the coach is started and the air tanks topped off ,sit with the park brake on. How often does your air compressor cycle? Watch the air gage(s). if your air gage needle , either suspension or air brakes drop and gain while you are sitting , you have a leak in that or both systems.
Many times its the air dryer, or the HCV ( ride control height valves) . Turn off the engine , do not touch the brakes or rock the coach, ect and listen for a leak. Also time the drop in air psi. You can crawl under with a soapy spray bottle and hit all the connections, check valves , brake bellows , hose connections , tank valves, PPV ( pressure protection valve), air suspension dump valves, the electric air signal solenoid valve (activated from the automatic leveler panel) or manual air signal valve, ect, ect.....

A squirt gun with kiddie bubbles or dish soap will work too, especially for the hard to reach spaces. Just look for bubbles.

I have had air leaks a few times, and each time it has been a loose air line going to the front air bags. I use a standard spray bottle with a little soapy water to wet the air lines down with and watch for bubbles. Most of the time, I can hear the leak as soon as I get close to it.

Our air leak was the air-step solenoid. I noticed ours when we took the coach to the dump station, and after only spending 20 minutes or so (stopped), I noticed it had lost 15lbs of air. Once it was aired-up, I shut it off and walked around the coach listening. Once I got to the 12VDC panel door (just below the drivers side window) I could hear the leak.
Hope yours is as easy to find as mine was.
