We're about four hours away from Assateague. We're thinking about heading there next Thursday with another couple in their RV for a four day weekend. We realize the state park will be closed and the national park does not take reservations. What are the chances of getting two sites? What are the chances of getting the two sites next to one another? Just trying to get a 'feel' how crowded this place is this time of year.
If there were no vacancies, where would you suggest as another option in the area? We're more into the state/natl parks and not places like Frontier Town.
Thanx!
John

We were at the state park 2 weekends ago and there were plenty of available spots. I can only guess that there would be plenty at the National park.
You could call the park and ask.

You will have a fantastic time. Hope the weather is good for you. Enjoy all the trails and of course the beach. Dont forget to enjoy the night sky if it is clear. With the clear cool nights, it is amazing how many stars you can see. BREATHTAKING.....
Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go Camping Our pics

Should not be any problem. Great place to stay this time of year. Just make sure you have propane for your furnace and your batteries are up to snuff. Can be a little chilly.

This is SO true. We were there in September and I could not believe how many stars were in the sky. It was absolutely beautiful!
