OK...here goes.... Opinions and/or facts welcome on these two mh's- 2004 Winni Sightseer 30' vs a 2003 Damon Challanger 28.5 both with about the same equipment and miles ( winni's got a Vortec 8.1 and the Damon's got a Ford Triton V-10
). What would you chose and why? Tell all - the good, the bad and the ugly!

Our first class A was a 2005 Damon Challenger ( with a workhorse engine ). Drove a diesel and then had to have a diesel. Now have a Itasca Meridian. World of difference. Engine in the back. More stable on the road and much quieter.
We liked the Damon's layout but not the noise from the front engine placement. Also did not like the drive in the wind or when being passed by a semi. If you are only going short drives it would be OK. I think that the Winny product could be built better but have not seen the one that you are talking about.
Hope what little I have said helps you some.

My vote would be Winnebago. While the Damon may be finished nicer I think the Winnebago is a better quality coach.

I looked at a LOT of coaches when buying and did a lot of research too. It appears to me that the Winnebago is not as flashy as Damon, but they build a much better and more reliable coach. They also have one of the best reputations for customer support.

Winnebago hands down, very little factory service available at Damon. That was our main reason for choosing another brand when we owned a Intruder.

I would normally recommend the Winny, but not on a Workhorse chassis. Do a search on Workhorse brakes. That may lead you to continue searching until you find a Winny (with a floor plan you like) on a Ford chassis.

Another vote for Winnebago. Look at both of them REALLY close, past the whistles & bells and smoke & mirrors. Look at the construction quality, fit & finish, and research customer service. You'll see what I mean. Good luck to you!

OK....It seems pretty clear that Winnebago is the decided favorite in this match up. I am going to take all of the tips, hints etc. and investigate further especially with reference to the Workhorse brakes issue. Thanks to all.

If you can put up with the brakes not getting fixed on the Workhorse Chassis until next year that would be my preference. The Allison Transmission is way ahead of the others.
