Just did my 500 hour service on my 5500 Onan. Changed oil/filter, air filter, primary fuel filter, removed the secondary fuel filter per Onan TSB and put adapter in place of it and changed the spark plugs. The plugs were definetly wore out after 500 hours. They were worn. Also replaced fuel filter Warrior installs coming out of the genny fuel tank.
Genny fires up much quicker now. I am ready for dune season!!!!!

What does the fuel filter look like coming out the fuel tank. I will have to check that out to see if I have one or not.

It is a standard looking filter, hose clamp ends. I got mine at Autozone, part number GG3043 1/4 I think. Mine has 1/4" fuel line coming out of my genny tank.

I don't know about a TSB but here's a past thead about it.

Onan Thread

I added another filter back at the tank but I haven't changed the factory filters yet. If the onan has two I can't see the second (or third in my case) filter ever getting clogged? Maybe it's the added restriction they're worried about?

Sorry, it is not a TSB, they call it a Product Support Bulletin. It is Bulletin No. 713 dated 10/9/09. Camping world printed out my bulletin and gave it to me.
The filter they eliminated was the filter that screwed in right before the carb. You replace it with part number A026E529. When you order a new fuel filter, you can't get the old style now, only the new style. Which screws into the fuel pump.

Oh yeah, forgot to say, the issue is not any filter getting plugged, the issue is the old style filter leaks like crazy. Onan will not admit that, they just say you don't need a redundant filter. But it is because the old style leaked. Go out and check yours and see if it is leaking. I know a few people on glamisdunes.com had leaking ones.
