Last year when we closed up for the Winter I bought some fox urine to dribble, no pun intended, around the camper to keep mice and such out. I didnt have any problems, but I also dont know if there was any mice around, so in my mind it worked. This year I am being told that this is not a good practice as the urine washes away easily. Does anyone have a comment on this practice or any other suggestions?

Apparently it does wash away. We've tried to use it in our garden area at home to repel chipmunks, with virtually no success.

Do not laugh OK?
According to several sources that have deer, mice, and other such problems what works is repeated sprinkling with any Male urine. One wife is making hubby only use the sprinkle can for the urine side of things while the other, remote location, makes him go outside. I have No first hand experience with this approach but at least three folks swear by it. The continued use (sprinkling) solves the wash away problem as noted earlier in this thread.
You asked for a recommended solution and maybe this one maybe an option for you? Me I will continue to look further.
Best of luck keeping the critters out.

So, if I get this right... here's what you do:
1. Drink lots and lots of adult beverages... and I mean lots!
2. Fill your black water tank with the proceeds.
3. Install a small pump on your black water dump valve.
4. Connect sprinklers from the pump around your rig.
5. Hook it all up to a timer for regular and even coverage!!
6. Problem solved!!

While hunting I had urinated behind a tree one time, and I swear I could hear some deer laughter coming from the brush ahead of me… Seriously now, I never knew they could laugh…

I can tell you this will NOT keep raccoons out of your backyard fishpond! Don't ask how I know.
