Greetings,
This winter I'll be traveling thru Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and I'm in need of some dental work. I am aware of the possibilities in Algodones near Yuma, but I suspect that due to the large numbers of snowbirds in this area that the price will reflect the high demand. Are there any other areas I should consider? I've heard of Mexican dentists in the Columbus New Mexico area also in Mexico across from Loredo Texas.
TIA

I've been having dental work done in Algodones for several years and have never seen a price difference between summer and winter seasons.
The price has always been around 25 cents on the dollar to U.S. prices and is based mainly on the exchange rate of the Peso to the Dollar. I find the facilities and quality of work to be comparable and find many of the dentists in the area are graduates of U.S. dental schools in addition to universities in Mexico.

I have been using a dentist across from Del Rio, Texas for several years now. His prices are reasonable, about 1/4 of USA prices and work in comparable.

Dr Luis Horigome, 261 Ave B suite 5, Algodones B.C. Mexico. U.S cell phone is 1-760-222-0616 or his LL in country is #011-52-658-51-77311.
He speaks just enough english and I just enough spanish that we get along just fine.
I leave the RV in the Sleepy Hollow RV Park about 100 yards from the border and walk across. Go 2 blocks turn right on Ave. B and go about a block, he's on your right on the 2nd floor above a pharmacy.
I also get my eye exams and glasses done every couple of years in Algodones.
Be sure when you cross the border you have your Passport with you because U.S Customs will ask for it upon your return to our side.
Happy tooth repairs.

At Polomas (doves) just across the border there are several dentist that cater to US citizens and several pharmacies. Most people park on the US side and walk across the border, there is a large parking lot for it. Poncho Villa state park is a very nice rv park with full hook-ups. It located on the south side of Columbus NM. A great place to eat and shop in Polmas is the Cafe Roasa, known as the pink cafe. The have a large selection of Mexican goods and curios. There is a Mexican grocery store next door, closest thing to a super market, other than in Deming, NM. Sometimes they have great Mexican cheese made by the Mennonites south of Palmoas. Several good Mexican bakeries, also, several bars I would recommend staying out of many are for locals only unless you live in the area and they are familiar with you. Some will not allow women at all. The pink Cafe has all types of drinks and caters to families from the US. There area couple of mom and pop cafes in Columbus and that's about all, other than a three room motel. There is a museum in the old RR depot and one at Pancho Villa State Park. Interesting place to spend a few days.
