Well, it doesn't pay to have a cool Saturday with nothing to do. A few weeks ago, my wife said to kill time, we should go to the local RV lots to look around and kill some time. We did, and now are the proud owners of a Flagstaff 831FLSS. Must be something about the smell that intoxicates you. What the heck, it's only money! So far we've been out for one four-nighter, and really love the camper. My only worry is that it has Duro tires, but they are radials, so we'll see how that goes.

Lots of problems with those tires, but I bet most are related to two things: low air pressure and driving faster than the tire's speed rating.

Is that what happens, it's the new camper smell. We also went out on a cold, snowy, day last month an bought a new 5'er. I wonder what happened, my DW went from looking to buying in no time. I have to tell her it was the smell, not me, nor the salesman.
Good Luck with the new unit.

Congrats on the new TT. Seeing your location, maybe you could take it on shakedown run thru the Tail of the Dragon. In the spring of '07 I took my TV thru there (w/o the TT). I think on some sections only 2 tires were on the pavement.

Just don't go during the hot summer. That formaldehyde smell will chock you and make your eyes water. When we got our new TT 3yrs ago we were lucky I had covered storage so could leave the windows open. It took 3mo to completely get rid of that smell.

Congrats. I'm sure you'll enjoy that rig.

Today I have 'old trailer smell'. Wife cooked up some poultry gravy in here when I was gone (I'm the cooking smells police) and now the place reeks of chicken fat.

congrats on your new trailer!! As much as the 'new smells' are very inviting to buy a new trailer.... there is formaldehyde like retired phone man said... I got my new trailer in April.. and kept the windows open and a fan going off and on for a few weeks... Even tho its now Nov there still is a faint smell that lingers.

I dont fry or cook inside as of yet... I am a fairweather camper so no need to fill the trailer with 'food aromas" that linger....

I've said it before and will say it again.

Congrats! We've done that twice at the last 2 RV shows. We are happy with our unit for now and will try and avoid the RV this winter by camping, it's cheaper!
