Hi,

I run across a product called Aqua Flow. It is a saltfree water conditioner. Cost around $200 and can be used in the RV.

Has anyone heard of this product?

Thanks

Ron

They don't say on the web site how it works but it looks like the magnet thing again. Some say this stuff really works, but then again some say magnets increase their gas mileage too....I don't believe it....

Hi,

I use a Everpure water filter, sold at Camping World. The filters are a little expensive, but it claims to filter out most of the bad stuff in the water, and so far I have consumed water from my plastic fresh water tank for over 10 years, and not gotten sick from it.

Are you looking for a water softener that takes out excessive minerals?

You might be better off just installing a 5 micron filter that is in a cartridge that is 12" tall and about 5" diameter. I have had one to protect my water processor, and so far it is working great! I only use mine for the drinking water, but if you want to filter out minerals from all of the water, this can work on the water pump output, and will lower the pressure a bit, but should work OK. If you have a accumulator tank, it would probably work better to put the tank after the water filter, so the pressure drop will be less most of the time.

Good Luck!

I have the softener that uses salt to regenerate the resin and I have never tasted the salt. It costs me 33 cents worth of salt every 800 gallons of soft water to operate and works perfectly. I am dubious the magnets are that efficient but I can't support my position with scientific evidence one way or the other.

I'll second this. RO is a proven technology and you get very pure water out of one.

and you waste about 2/3 of the water to drain. unless of course you want to totally rebuild your plumbing, new storage tanks, etc.

Yep, cheaper here! You can use potassium chloride which is also good for you.
