I liked the video of the manufacturing process in side the factory. The factory video is kinda mixed in with the other video.

Because of my inexplicable averision to adding pics to our travel posts (It's gonna be top-o-list, for me, next year). I invite all to see our rig and some of my family in this "Living the Lance Life" DVD. We are 3 of 4. Also see Nancy, she is amazing, does it all, drives on the beach, drives from New England to Maryland and everywhere else, proving that the distaff side is perfectly capable of wheeling a truck camper.. TCing has been a great way for us to transition from a long experience living aboard and cruising extensively on a sailing yacht. We got the TC first to travel over sand on Assateague Island in Maryland and have subsequently been from the Florida Keys to Alaska and lots of spots in between. If Daniel Boone and his pals were still around they would be the TCers, me thinks. Get out your coonskin caps boys and girls.
Love to all,
skip & Linda

How did you get on that Lance video? Did Lance shoot the footage?

Yes, we were asked to allow a professional photographer to join us on a fishing trip on Assateague Island. We were not paid and we really enjoyed the opportunity to show what we enjoy doing with our TC. Nancy, the lady with the two daughters, with whom we have become very friendly, also had a good experience doing the DVD. All the kids got a big kick seeing the results. We did too!

Assateague is a big mess right now, thousands of tires that were submerged years ago as an artificial reef, broke loose in the Northeaster last week and are littering the beach. Our fishing club, The Assateague Mobil Sportsfishermans Assoc., is assisting in the cleanup. It is a hugh job!

Thanks Brad for posting the videos. I've seen some of it before but watching them again and this time all of it, I had noticed some things it didn't see the first time. They are nicely done and give some of the reasons why Lance sells the most truck campers by far. I've personally seen the gaps between the frame members and the insulation/foam found many of the other campers/RVs at a couple service departments who were fixing/repairing units. What a difference a tight fit makes in weather proofing an RV!

Because Lance sells so many campers to amortise the cost over, they could justify spending the capital required to make sophisticated and dedicated machines etc and using technology to make close tolerance structures and repeatability. Now they are even using this same process in building a line of travel trailers which are light, strong, quality built, and well sealed. The future looks bright for Lance while so many other manufacturers have either closed down or are in serious financial condition.

Successful long term manufacturing operations know well the fact that they have to spend money to make money and to spend that money wisely!
