My 1o year old daughter wants a wii for Christmas. I do not know anything about them. Anybody have any experience with these things and would care to enlighten me? I think from what I read we would like to get one with the fitnes stuff for some exercise in the colder months.

They are great fun. While I have to have one of the grandchildren to hook it up for me, I enjoy the bowling and tennis. I really love bowling with our granddaughter. It is just about as frustrating as the game in the alley!

WII is a fun game platform to run various different interactive games for all ages.
WII Bowling, WII Ski, Mario Cart, Animal Crossing, are the most popular at our house.

I'm not the video game kind of person but the wii is great fun for the whole family all ages. The wii fit is pretty cool too. It's worth the money.
we have had ours for 3yrs now and still play the same ol sports games on it.
Ages 5, 8, 36, and 37.

Wii is a blast. There are lots of easy fun games for the younger ones and older alike. You should be able to get pretty good deals on them now.

You will want 2 controllers. If you cant find a package you can buy an a controller as an accessory at Walmart.

Some suggest the exercise...I say just do some of the sports games like Bicycling, Rowing or Tennis and you will get plenty of exercise.

My son-in-law works for a game software writing company and wii is his game of choice at home. Just be aware that you need plenty of open space in your "game" room to prevent injuries, especially with the one on one games. Also they are all pretty realistic so don't forget to warm up and stretch before game time.

Wii is great. The fit is fun, too. Go ahead and get an extra controller and numchuck, because she'll want you to play along. My 11 year old daughter likes to play the sports games that came with it, and Mario at the Olympics. Now she wants Mario Kart, and I we've already got it for Christmas. I've been hearing that the Wii is used in sports therapy and at nursing homes.
