More great news regarding "Climate Change formerly known as Global Warming".
Hackers broke into the servers at a prominent British climate research center and leaked years worth of e-mail messages onto the Web, including one with a mysterious reference to a plan to "hide the decline" in data about temperatures.

DELETED!
You know, you're right. This part of the RVNET Forum should ONLY pertain to RV related topics, and nothing actually important.
Thanks for the reminder!

For those that don't like a link to Fox,
UK Telegraph
This is really big. There appears to be some very damaging info in the leaked files.
Not only do the researchers talk about how to "hide the decline" they also talk about the problem of the middle ages warming period.

Any changes in our energy policies will have a major impact on the energy companies. I suspect that some of them, in self defense, have groups of people working overtime to generate "factoids" that can be used to attack the conclusions that the scientists have come to.

And you can swear to this how? Just wondering.
I'm considerably more ambivalent about the whole thing. Man has a rather large effect on the planet so far, witness the extinction of species, large scale deforestation, and reduction in water tables. Quite a few marine species are getting very hard to find in significant numbers due to overfishing.

I'm no expert and I listen to both sides. But I've never heard anyone (on either side) discuss what caused the last ice age and what caused it to retreat. It certainly wasn't mankind.
I do know that you can prove most anything with statistics. You simply start and end the graph where you want to.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

ICE HOUSE or HOT HOUSE?
Quote: During the last 2 billion years the Earth's climate has alternated between a frigid "Ice House", like today's world, and a steaming "Hot House", like the world of the dinosaurs.
This chart shows how global climate has changed through time.

I still say that, "in confusion there is profit", and a whole lot of it too.
So, which of the Repriatable Scientists or Scientific Groups who claim to be the ultimate answer to this "Crisis" do we beleive?
As for the "Aledged" hacked emails, I question the authenticity of the whole news release, since news today can be manipulated so easily. And could it be that some of the information was taken out of context, just to make a story?
We maay know the actual story on Climate Change in the future when and if the predicted changes actually happen.
Don't trust too much.
