They lost me on the Global Warming scare when about 7 years ago they could not find any warming in the worlds oceans. The Oceans are huge heat sinks. The world isn't going to get warmer without them warming up.

Don't make it a political thread and it will last.

It means that if the climatologists can't figure it out, I don't expect a RVer to.

IMO, it means the facts don't match the theories OR the computer models.

BUT, the theories and computer models CAN'T be wrong!

Can they?

How we know global warming is still happening, Part 1

Skeptics proclaim that global warming stopped in 1998. That we’re now experiencing global cooling. However, these arguments overlook one simple physical reality — the land and atmosphere are only one small fraction of the Earth’s climate (albeit the part we inhabit). Global warming is by definition global. The entire planet is accumulating heat due to an energy imbalance. The atmosphere is warming. Oceans are accumulating energy. Land absorbs energy and ice absorbs heat to melt. To get the full picture on global warming, you need to view the Earth’s entire heat content.

Fast on the heels of the hottest June to September on record*, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies reports that last month was tied for the second hottest October on record (after 2005).

Unlike NOAA, which announced its October global analysis with a major “State of the Climate” monthly update, NASA just quietly updates its data set (here). So you have to do a little math to see that for the June through October period, 2009 now tops both 1998 (easily) and 2005 (just barely, hence the asterisk).

For NOAA, it was the sixth warmest October on record, and the fifth-warmest January-through-October period:

I think you make good points.

Scientific theories seem to come and go as new information comes to the surface. Which is as it should be I suppose.

Back in the '50's as a young kid growing up I had a fascination with Dinosaurs, as I'm sure many a young lad over the years shared.

Common thought as espoused by prevailing scientific theories of the time (1950's/ early '60's)indicated that Dinosaurs were cold blooded and reptiles.

Now my understanding is that currently prevailing scientific theories indicate that Dinosaurs are thought to be warm blooded and were closer to birds than any other type of animal.

All I'm saying is that as the years go by, new information surfaces and new and different scientific theories prevail.

In 20-30 years, who knows what new info may surface and what new scientific theories about issues as diverse as Dinosaurs or global warming (to name just two) will surface and be generally accepted as the new 'fact'.

My thoughts as a lay person.

I think you are right on the money with those statements.
