Hi cableguy574,

I got seven years out of a pair of maintenance free batteries from Walmart. The new owner is still using them. I did get the largest ones that would fit.

The best STARTING batteries (cranking amps per pound of battery) are Optima Spiral Batteries.

They are standard equipment on Foretravel. The two in our coach are 8 years old and doing just fine.

Go to autozone and get their commercial industrial battery It is the exact replacement for the Cat battery .I replaced mine a year ago and no problems as a matter of fact this summer I replaced my 4 six volt house batts with 2 of the same batt and am very happy. The best part is they are maintainance free and cost about $90. a piece!

Sam's Club has a Enegizer Commercial Heavy Duty 950 which is made by Johnson Controls. Same specs as the 950 Interstate but a lot cheeper.

Unless you need an 8D I would say the best is the Sears Platinum AGM.
Check and compare cranking amp ratings.
