Just wondering about how much cribbing (blocks) for your rv do you carry? Seems I have accumulated quite a few. Have you ever been in a situation where you needed more than you had? What did you do?

Thanks for your replies....John

I once needed a boat load.
we were in the KOA at renfro Valley ky the slope from front to back was so great the back jacks fully extended wouldn't touch the ground and the front jacks required me to did a hole before I could lower them.
Lucky I had a lot of boards.

2 sets of the orange legos and I'm good. That's 20. Never needed them all yet. I stack the extras under the jacks so I don't have to crank them all the way down.

6 hunks of 4x4, asst boards for leveling tires, 1 set of legos. once front to rear was so bad, front needed nothing(not even jack block(6x6) ) and everything on the rear. front door bottom step on the ground and couldn't use rear door, but most are fairly good. have noticed most prvt. CG pretty good, but the public ones are from great(most) to 'you gotta be kidding me'. army corp usually the better(and least used-or so it seems around here) and st parks can be good to bad (mostly good to fair)but usually larger sites so it's a trade off.

IF you plan on camping in primitive campgrounds or boondocking you'll need more than if you camp in RV Parking lots. My advice is to take what you THINK you'll need and be prepared to make adjustments. No law says you have to get it right the first guress and only YOU know your tastes.
Good luck / skip

i cary 4 12' high blocks i made from scrap 2x4 glued together to make the correct size of my stab jacks... a rope run through them so i can toss them around... then one cement block for the a-frame jack.

i carry 6 2x6 planks for my tires. i primarily dry camp at state/fed parks... this setup has never failed me. some times i end up with two blocks on one side and none on the other but like i said it has always worked out.

i'm cheap the legos are not.

We also carry two sets of ten. One set is not enough for us to use to make a ramp for REAR TT tire so front TT tire is off ground.

We carry 4 sets of Lynx levelers plus . . .

For the TT: 5 - 4 X 6 X 15" pressure treated wood blocks for supporting the tongue. The tongue on our Arctic Fox was 29" off the ground, so a tall stack of cribbing under the tongue jack was required.

For the 5ver: 5 - 4 X 6 X 15" pressure treated wood blocks for under the landing gear.

We've used all 40 Lynx Levelers on many occasions and wished we'd had more. If you stay exclusively at modern RV parks, you'll need 1-2 sets. The further into the boonies you go, the more you'll need.

I generally use a shovel. I dig a hole for the tires on the high side. With practice I've learned how to eyeball the hole pretty good. This also helps to stabilize the TT, and it keeps the unit lower so the steps don't get too high.
Of course I always boondock in remote locations. I imagine that a campground might frown on this practice.
