The Alaska Highway is 67 years old today. Looked a bit different back then

Drove the Alcan in 1995 again in 2005 with a 5th wheel RV. Two of our best trips. The Alcan is 67 years, I'm 68!

The basic 1500 mile road was completed in 8 months. How come it takes us a year to now finish work on a revised intersection?

Travelled that road in 1969, celebrated the 4th of July in Tok. Ate enough dust and dirt to last me a lifetime!
The attraction was the effect the building had on the war effort. Every civilian went to the theater every chance available to see the progress, to see what was being done to protect the US.

When I was 4 weeks old in December 1942, my Dad went to work on the Alcan Highway in B.C. He kept a diary and a picture album, precious memories. I should share them with a historical agency, but where I do not know.
