I took my moho in for the cruise control fix today and it's not obvious that they did anything. How can I tell if they really did the fix?

It won't malfunction and cause you to crash
Yeah, like you, mine was working fine before I took it in, so now it's still working fine....and I can only assume that they did the repair. I guess if there is a problem, and it is caused by the cruise control, you can have it checked and maybe sue Ford....but I'd rather not have that crash!!
My advice...use the cruise control when you are on open highway, where there won't be much problem, if there is a problem......and don't use it on rainy days, where you may find yourself out of control. Good advice for the CC in your car too!

I'm under the impression the fix is to add a fuseable link to the harness. If the device fails it take out the link preventing a fire.

Take a look at the brake master cylinder. There is a switch connected to the bottom. It has new wires connecting the switch to the wiring harness. The new wiring includes a fusible link to prevent too much current draw if the switch fails and leak brake fluid.

Thanks for that information.
I will have to check my motorhome, and perhaps get that recall done sometime soon!
Good Luck,
Fred.

Call your local Ford dealer and give them your VIN number....they can tell you if you if your vehicle is effected. When I had my Winnie fixed, it took less than three minutes to add a small wiring harness to the master cylinder.

I know where the switch is but I see no new wires. It looks the same as before they did the fix. Is it possible the fix is a new connector to the switch?

Important Notices
13 Oct 2009
Speed Control Deactivation Switch Recall (09S09)
Ford is recalling all remaining vehicles – approximately 4.5 million U.S. vehicles – equipped with Texas Instruments speed control deactivation switches. While the data show the majority of the vehicles being recalled do not pose a significant safety risk, we are recalling the vehicles to reassure customers and eliminate any future concerns. This recall affects older models, including discontinued vehicles. The majority is greater than 10 model years old, with some up to 18 model years old.
From Ford.com website. You can put your VIN # in and it will tell you if there are any recalls on your vehicle.

I had the fix done, took maybe 8 minutes, a fuseable link was installed, it is easily over looked, but it is there.
