I cannot receive HD on most of our channels. I do get a few but very few. I talked to a Dish tech and he ran some info and suggested I have a tech come out. We are in the RV and that would not work. We are 200 hundred miles from home. I do get all my channels in standard TV. The on line tech said I was not getting sat 129 and that is where all most all HD channels are. I thought all I had to bring in is Sat 110 and 119?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The tech is correct. On your dish 129 is on the right. 119 in middle and 110 on left. Do you have the 3 lnb dish? That is what you need. Jerry

i wish it would have been that simple. It has 3 LNB's,
When one does a check switch should the 129 come up? and is the dish system the 500 or super? should tuner input be on 2 or 1 or does it matter?
thanks!

Are you on Directv? On DirecTV you have to have the 101 sat to get everything else. When I worked for DirecTV installing I lined up on the 101, once you have the 101 sat, if you have the tilt right, then the other two will come in automatically if there isn't some obstruction, AND your LNB is working and your box it working properly. What are you getting on your sat meters strength for each sat? 1.Check sat meters 2.Check for obstructions, (trees) 3.Check dish tilt. After that if everything so far doesn't fix it, wait for the tech.

Shouldn't this be on the technology forum and not tech issues?

Just in case someone has Direct TV versus Dish network here is a problem I had.
My HD has B band converters. These are connected inline on to the satellite cable and go on the back of the receiver.
My receiver is a DVR so has two inputs. One of the converters failed and would not pass the HD. I switched them and the issue followed. Replacing the converter solved the problem.

thanks! When the tech set ours up, he checked both D500 and Super dish and then it worked, after the check switch was completed. Yes, you must have 129 to have all the HD channels.

Super.
129 should show after check switch is complete.
Set up receiver 1 first, then receiver 2 should work just fine.
