Are there any horse barns nearby? Just have him lie down on his back and wiggle around like a dog does right after you give him a bath. Post pictures.

The next time, go to the auto parts store or the Walmart auto dept. and get a small container of Fast Orange Hand Cleaner. Put him in a bath tub or hot water,(as hot as he can stand), scrub his back for him with the hand cleaner, then let him lay back and have a relaxing soak in the hot water, then a nice hot shower.
Oh, yes, believe me, as one who worked around gasoline for a lifetime, there WILL be a next time, you can bet on it!
