We are looking for some Help!!! We are Green Horns to the Rio Grand Valley in Texas.
We are trying to get to the valley in Jan. or Feb. not sure of arrival date yet with some Dr. app. So here's my questions
We are looking to stay for a month at a time in a park . any sugestions ?? The problem is we can't make any reservations because of our DR app.
Well, that's our plan for now but who knows we may stay longer. We thought we would work our way back north a month at a time. Looking for parks with something to do ,and that will allow a 100 lb friendly Dog and we need to park a 40' 5th wheel. Looking for a park that doesn't pack you in. I know I ask a lot!!
Thank You for your Help
Wayne

He states he is new to the Rio Grande Valley so I assume that is tghe valley.
Wayne, you might check out monthly rates at a park that interests you. It could work out to narrow your dates and make the reservation ahead to get the space and the favorable price. The few days you might be off due to Dr. appts. might still work out to be cheaper than waiting until the last moment.

As a fellow newbie to the RGV I found this website handy. Click on a city and a list of RV parks with websites will pop up. I'm sure there are many more, but at least it's a good start, and will give you an idea about rates.

You shouldn't have any problems with your situation. In fact you might just want to book a week when you get there and look around for that week to see if that is the park you want spend a month in or maybe find another park more to your liking....good luck

Try Texas Trails Pharr. They have a Doggie Friendly area with a large area between the rows for dog walking a doggie socializing. Sites are not as jammed together as some parks are. We have been there two previous years and have enjoyed all the amenities and convenience to shops, stores and the Interstate. Easy in and out. Pricing this year is $504 for 1 month and they have Tons of activities, indoor and outside pools with classes and such. Try their website. Never seen them full. PS V. Palms has many small sites close together. If you do choose to go there, and it is nice, ask for the newer section. The old section has sites about 6 feet apart. Not the best for Rover. Google map 501 W. Owassa Rd, Pharr TX. The dog area is the long set of rows going west from the clubhouse. Probably 50 feet wide as I recall. It is behind the units and runs nearly full length of the park.
