Does anyone know a place that can paint our 1998 Discovery at a reasonable price? We would love to have the kind of paint job that the newer ones have but $20k sounds a bit stiff.

Give these guys a call -- they used to be in the 10 K range;

While we are seeing a slight recovery the State of Indiana and the RV shops in and around Elkhart are still hurting -- thus should be very competitive.

Custom Paint & Auto Body, Inc. in Red Bay, AL can take care of your needs. Contact Bruce Deaton, Owner at (256) 356-5695. Bruce's shop is just outside the gate of Tiffin Motorhomes and Bruce has done a lot of painting for Tiffin. He painted all of the early Tiffin Zephyr coaches. Does excellent work at very reasonable prices. Full body paint runs about $8,000.

I agree with tgobob, there is no reason to pay $20k when you can get the same thing or better for less than half the price at Red Bay, AL.

appreciate the information but we want to keep our business in the US. So many people here are already out of work that I just couldn't justify going out of the country even if it meant saving money.

Will be looking into other ideas from members though.

Thanks to all

If you ever plan a trip to Las Vegas, there's a company "RECON" that does full body paint. Their phone # is 702 862-9700 and if you call, ask for Dave Medsker.

I had him repair a small area of damage to the sidewall of our coach, and I asked him how costly a full body paint job would be.

He said it depended much on how many graphics and different paint colors are involved but gave a ball park figure of between $5 to $6k.

Ours is a 38' gas coach.

For an older coach perhaps? Has anyone ever looked into one of the full body vinyl wraps that you often see on large buses advertising a radio station or product. Every body panel or door large or small is covered seamlessly and literally cannot be told from a full paint job. May not last as long but much lower cost than paint particularly if you incorporate multi colors or designs and also easily covering dings or scratches.
