Need some advice about what could be wrong or what I could possibly do about my RV frig (1997). I have defrosted it but it did'nt make a difference and it continued to beep. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this anything I could fix on my own? Thanks.

You are new to the Forum. Please post Year and Brand and Model of RV when asking technical questions. Also post the Brand and Model of the appliance. You can't get accurate advice without this info. Are you positive it says C2 and NOT CO? Doug

Had a neighbor move in with an 05 toy hauler with a Norcold not working. Did a search on line and found how to do a manual reset with 6 in of wire. Works fine now. Shop up the road quoted her $650+ and a local RV tech wanted $150 plus what ever parts needed just to look at it.

Got to love Google!

C2 on a 962 indicates AC Heater fault. The unit can still be operated on LP in the manual mode. The odds are the Element is bad. Doug

"C2" means freezer fin thermistor out of range. You could try to slide it up and down to see if it will go back into range.

The thermistor is a thermal resistor that changes resistance depending on its temperature. It clips onto the fins inside the refrigerator and communicates temperature changes to the appropriate circuit board by the change in its resistance. Normally when a thermistor goes bad it has a very high resistance and causes over cooling.

On Norcold models up to, but not including the 900 series model, the thermistor should have a reading of around 40,000 ohms between the terminals of the connector when the sensor end is place into a glass of ice water.
