I want a 1000w with electric start that I can rig for automatic start up.
2000w does not look like electric start and no RV connector

Just dropped an email to CPE asking if the parallel kit will have a 30amp RV connector and if Sam's Club will carry it. I'll post their response.

Just a hunch. Until the Super Store outlets stock the Champion 2000', no telling how they might price the inverter. Hopefully we will see a promo price.
Someone soon should be able to get their hands on one and report. Anyone order from 'backupgenerator.com' yet??? We need a genny pig. Who will be first. This will be interesting reading the first reviews. The description says it will have a Champion engine. That in it self should make for a great genset. They say 53 dbA, weight 49# I assume we will see Champion take a early lead in the inverter market. I doubt any other brands will have 24/7 CS.

Even though I own twin Honda EU20001's, I have often recommended the Champion to someone that wants an inexpensie generator, mostly because of the good factory support reported by Champion owners.
With that said, (I assume the prices above are for the 2000 watt) saving about $100 on a Champion generator compared to a Honda or Yamaha, doesn't sound like a good deal to me. Champion may have good customer support, but Honda and Yamaha have a nationwide dealer network that provide local parts and service. Honda and Yamaha are proven generators. That, plus the fact that Honda and Yamaha have high resale value, if you should ever decide to get rid of them, would be worth more than the extra $100 to me.
As I have said many times, the only way I would buy anything but a Honda or Yamaha is to save a substantial amount of money, To save a small amount, I personally would never buy a Kipor, Boily, Magna, Champion, Honeywell or any other brand.

i'm just guessing, but with the way Cabella'a & Sam's club, price things I would not be surprised to see it under $600 with sale prices at $549 or less.
after all MSRP from the mfg is just that a 'suggested price' always high to give the perceived savings over the lower price a marketing edge, doesn't matter if its cars, camera's, RV's or Generators
Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

I agree with you on this.I myself had a yellow champion 3500 watt it was a great gen for the money but after a couple years it just wasnt putting out the wattage like it did when i got it and motor was sounding like it was dying and on its last leg too.Previous was an elim 3000 also good but didnt last.
i bought a used honda 3000 and the ones i saw for under 1300 were already gone asap finally found one and have been very happy with it.Figured this time i was in 600 for 2 previous gens and the yellow champs are 450 here in ca and i already know their lifespan.(the champ could take some abuse i ran it twice for a weekend in 110 deg heat constant)
I do run a gen alot when i go to the desert and i put many hours on them.
The new champ sounds really good compared to the honda yami competiton sound level at 53db is really good IMO.For the dollar they are good buys.

I've always liked your posts. And 7 is known to be the perfect number. Times 2, even better. I assume the 77 was Dodge built?
Again, I like your reasoning. $300 x 2, $600 bucks for lot's of true value. Plenty of bangs for the buck. It's been stated. 3600 revs per minute times 60 miuutes = 216,000 bangs per one hour, WOW. I wonder how many bangs you got from the $600 for the two gennys. Pretty cheap per bang. So $ value per bang in the desert sand, not to shabby. Anyway, I wish you good luck and long life with the Honda. Can't fine many, if any, bad reports about Honda. Champion has a lot to prove with the new inverter and remote gens. Fingers are crossed.

Good to see champion get into these small units, I've been very happy with my 3400 champion for home use.
It will be interesting to see how technology progresses. I would also like to see a 1000 and 2000 with remote electric start. Electric start on these small units doesn't excite me unless it is remote.
