We have a Kariba w/d in our MH. Most times, it works fine, other times, it can be a real bi. . . well, it can be annoying.
What happens is simple: put in the detergent, set the timer, and the washer should fill with water. However, some times(no particular pattern that we can find), the tub will start to fill but will not fill, it just dumps into the gray tank(or sewer if on full hookups). From time to time, it seemed that fooling with the timer, filter, or something else, it would correct the problem, though once again, no pattern or clue.
I suspect it's one of two things, but I don't know this w/d that well. I understood the w/d in the stick/brick, and am basing my assumptions on that - hopefully not too far off.
It's either the timer malfunctioning, or the fill valve/sensor not working. Since it's trying to fill but dumps water down the drain, and since moving the timer does not appear to have any effect, I'm suspecting a valve issue.
Any of you with more knowledge/experience have any ideas? I can't find any technical documents yet, other than a Splendide manual I pulled off the net. Doesn't have any technical info or diagrams, though. . .

If you do not have a big enough air gap at the drain hose it will sometimes syphon the water out. The water level is controlled by a small hose that goes to a pressure sensor that shuts the water off. I'd check this hose for kinks or obstructions. You could also call Splendide as they are very helpful. 800-356-0766

Ours does the same thing from time to time and its a result of the drain hose siphoning the tub as stated above. Just lift up the hose from the drain and replace.

The drain hose has to be higher than the water in the tub or it will siphon back out from time to time. On most home systems the drain is as high as the top of the back of the machine.

Ok, you guys are the best!!! At least, so far, you are!!! LOL
Last night after reading some of these replies, I went back just to check out the drain hose. I had enough drain hose stuck down my drainpipe to hose out my gray tank!!! No wonder it was siphoning right back out! When I pulled the drain hose up out of the pipe, I could hear the water lock let go and water drained right out. DW did two loads today and worked perfectly!
Thanks so much to all who answered! We all know - when Mama's not happy, no one is happy!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
