Well Montana is for the birds, In texas most parks ask you to run it on the ground. We have dogs lined up to fight for the fire hydrants now.
If you would like, I will be happy to list at least 10 parks that BEG you to run the gray water on the ground. SSHHHHHHHH one is a TT park.
You want em ?

Since I live in TX, this is interesting to me since I'm a newbie at this. Here, because of the severe drought conditions, at a place where it isn't crowded, I can see dumping a grey water tank just to help the soil, because the water would be absorbed in the ground or evaporate before flies could become a serious issue.
What RV parks encourage grey water tank dumping? Just idly curious.

wash bottles outside with 6 gallon blue tote. take only one shower (per 3 day trip), hey it's camping. when washing dishes use a large plastic bowl to collect gray water and dump elsewhere.

Got my Blue Tote at JC Whitney no tax and free shipping and had a coupon code. I think I've got a coupon now if your interested. Sadly since buying we have not needed it at all.
Also, check Craigslist sometimes they can be found there.

If the TT I buy has an outside shower, maybe I can get away with plopping a floor mat or a tarp down, putting up some type of shower curtain around, and showering that way. If I'm boondocking and have carved a decent enough trench to get the water to go away from the camper (as opposed to under it), that might be a good idea.
Of course, this isn't something to do in a CG, and a lot of other places, but it might be doable in some areas.

Just type in "blue portable tank" or any other question in plain language form and google will tell you something. I just did the above question and got many many hits on where to buy them... Maybe one of those places will be near you...

I usually catch all my gray water in two Reliance Aqua-Tainer (The blue ones from Lowes/Walmart)
Then I tote them to the local bath room with my two wheeled folding cart and pour down the pot there.
Having two containers lets my keep cycling one to keep up with momabear and her dishes...
If Im not near a water spigot then I take a couple of jeri-cans for fresh water at the bath house and bring that back using my two-wheeled cart to pour into the fresh water tank. 5-gallons at a time doesnt take very long to fill up the fresh water tank...
I also have a 12VDC water pump (Lowes/Walmart) to pump the water from the jeri-can into the tank if I am feeling lazy...

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the following (though the first was mentioned):
* Take Navy showers, turn water on, rinse down, turn water off, soap up, turn water on, then rinse again and turn water off. Also, take the showers every second or third day. Take sponge baths to clean up on the other days.
* Use the "three-pot method" for washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes/bottles. This uses three wash basins, though when only my wife and I are out, we can do this with two, since the only items that need to be washed are the cooking utensils (we use paper plates, cups, and plastic ware for eating).
Here is a breakdown of the three-pot method. The key is toward the end. Watch for it.
Using a paper towel, thoroughly wipe any food residue off of the plates. You want as little food as possible to be in the tub when washing. One paper towel is good for wiping several plates.
The first basin contains hot (not scalding) soapy water. The second contains (again hot, but not scalding) rinse water with a small amount (tablespoon) of bleach. The third contains boiling water.
Start with the cleanest dishes first, leaving the dirtiest dishes, usually the pots and pans and mixing bowls, for last.
The first dishes to be washed will be placed in the first basin with the soapy water and dishcloth or sponge, just like you do in a sink.
After washing, the dishes come out of the first basin and move them to the second where you agitate a little to rinse off the soap. Leave them in the second basin for the time being. The bleach will also sanitize the dishes and bottles.
Move the dishes get moved from the rinsing basin to the third basin. Be careful when you put the dishes in so you don't splash the hot water on yourself!
Let the dishes sit a few minutes in the boiling water then remove them. You may want to use tongs to help remove them.
Spread some paper towels, or use a portable dish drainer if you like, and let them drip dry upside down (we spread out paper towels for this which we reuse all weekend).
Here's the key...
Finally, dump all three basins into the toilet which will dump to the black water tank.
And that is it! Now in writing this, it sounds like a complicated procedure, partly because I really broke down the steps into baby steps to make sure I was explaining it well.
Between these two items, you should find that your limit will now be your fresh water supply and not the capacity of your grey or black water tanks.
I've been able to go five days and nights before having to dump.
Hope this helps.

Really? After 5-7 days, my gray water smells as bad as the Black.
You can certainly do it, but if you're in a State that doesn't allow it,& get caught, by Gray Water Nazis, it could cost you a whole lot more than the trip to the Dump Station.
Yes, the post is flamed due to the claim "it won't hurt a thing".
I'll be the first to defend it as not being an "environmental poison", but instead water and fertilizer.
But the response above is also extremely correct- it may smell bad, it may make a nasty mud hole, it may contain some bugs/pathogens, it may draw some flies, maybe your neighbor doesn't want those things either, and, in many instances, it's prohibited.
So, let's stop the all the bickering over this- Yes, Mother nature can usually handle gray water just fine, and there are a few places where gray water dumping is allowed and encouraged. BUT, there's also a really good chance that it will be a significant negative impact in environmental quality.
Don't do it unles you are certain that it's allowed you know for certian that it "wont hurt a thing". "Won't hurt a thing" is very bad as a blanket, all-encompassing statement.

We learned with our first tt that "size does matter"! Our new tt has a 42g black tank and 2 - 42g grey tanks. Now we can go a week without dumping, and take guilt-free showers.
Size of the tanks was one of the 3 or 4 critical elements in selecting the new tt.
