While I sympathise with your pain, as others pointed out, your issues are with UPS and not with Camping World.
Here are the posted customs rates for UPS: http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html. I believe that from that for a $30 item, you'll pay $7.85 entry preparation charge + $5.85 bond fee + $4.25 COD fee + 13% tax on the item for a total of $21.85 (possibly plus tax) to UPS. The page indicates that you can avoid the bond and COD fees by paying in advance but I tried in the past and was not successful - I think this might have to be done by the shipper.
If you get anything shipped from the US to Canada, it has to be shipped by air or it has to be shipped by USPS to avoid huge fees. All the other shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, etc) will charge huge customs clearance fees.

x2 Separate the shipping and broker fees and you'll see the broker is making the $$ for doing 'nothing'. That applies to all of them.

The shipping charges to Canada from the US through UPS is like being held up in a robbery. But, you need to remember that shipping to Canada is shipping to a foreign country just like shipping overseas to Europe or Asia. Sometimes I will sell something on Ebay and found out it is double or triple shipping costs to send to Canada through UPS or Fedex due to their customs clearance costs. If you can send it parcel post and just declare it a gift or low value it is a reasonable cost. I refuse to ship anything to Canada through UPS or Fedex unless the buyer will pay shipping costs and they can be more than the items cost.

Sounds to me as though Camping World is responsible for telling your the wrong information but they have nothing to say about what the actual rates are. They SHOULD take responsibility for providing accurate information ABOUT those rates however. I think you addressed the wrong question with their "complaint department" however. The complaint should have been about the need to update their web site so you get accurate information from it.

Every UPS package that I've had delivered here from the US has had to go through a 'broker' to get in. There is no way for the sender to know what the broker will charge. These charges are applied in a COD manner. This is in no way an issue with Camping World.

Conclusions may be drawn from the posts. This is not a Camping World issue, but a UPS shipping charge issue. If the complaint is that the CW web site does not properly calculate shipping charges, that is a separate matter from the original post and should be addressed accordingly.
So before this becomes a...
