We do but watch where. In todays world we no longer go near homes but stay in parks. Don't log many online but do find them and sign the books. On geocaching.com we are The Noels.

YES!! And we have discovered that at many interstate rest stops there are geocaches. Makes a great break and gets us out and walking before heading down the road. Now have caches in 22 states and counting. My new Iphone app makes this SO much easier. Happy caching.

There is one road near our house that has over 200 of them. My wife has that app and we look everywhere we camp

We use www.opencaching.us as well as geocahing.com. We use the Columbus app and c:geo app for our android since they are free. The opencaching.us site is 100% free but doesn't have as many listings as the other, but their listings are of a much higher quality. We are not paid members of geocaching.com.

We have been caching for a few years now and are working at logging as many countries, provinces and states as we can. We now have 1219 finds. We find it gives us something to do when in a new area and we find hidden gems that most tourists would not know about. Also is good exercise.
We log on geocaching.com under Tripalot Cachers

I don't get it, why would I want to cache something and let someone else come and get it?

You're right - you don't get it. Look up geocaching.com and read about the game. It becomes addictive once you get started.
You get to see some very neat and interesting places, you can tax your grey matter on some of the hides, you get exercise, you get to use your computer skills etc. etc.

Just spent 4 days at Skidaway Island in Savannah Ga. for the Going Coastal Event. Plus we picked up a Ga. State park find. Have graduated from simple park and grabs in walmart parking lots and trying to do mostly virtuals, earths and mystery caches for the many challenges they provide and places they take us. Been doing it since 2006 and have almost 1500 finds.

We've been cachers for 4 or 5 years, although we haven't done it as much the past couple of years. We've got a few of our caches throughout central Indiana that we have hidden. Once our 9 month old grandson gets a couple of years on him, we'll probably start getting back into it with him. A lot of places where caches are can be educational and fun, so we think it'll be a good experience for him.
