Anybody got any idea how I can get all the oil out of the Tranmission system so I can change over to synthetic I don't think it is a good idea to mix them--Rich

I did this a few years ago and had no problems. Just drain all the oil out of the tranny and refill with syn. Drive around awhile then drain it out again. Refill w/syn. the more you drain and fill, it will be 95 to 100% syn. I did mine two times. Yea, you will use extra fluid but it works.

You must drop the transmission pan. Make sure you change the filter. Use an air line to blow fluid out of tranny cooler.
You will not get it all out as the torque converter will not drain.
Read labels on the synthetic to see if they can be mixed.

Yes drop trany pan and change filter, refill with 3 qts. new oil, disconnect line to radiator, slip a short length hose over the disconnected cooling line, placing this hose into a 1 qt. container. Have a helper start the motor, at idle it will take about 15 seconds to fill the quart container. Using a loud voice direct your helper to turn the motor off. Discard the black oil, refill trany with that same amount of new oil. Repeat this ops. 7 or 8 times. Until clean fresh oil is expelled from the cooling line. If oil is pumped out of radiator rather than cooling line reverse the placement of drain hose . As for having a power flush, I would not do that to a 20 year old trany save that for a 50 year old politician. Also if you should spill some used oil onto your lawn and the grass turns brown, the oil, indeed needed to be changed.

Don't have to drop the pan. I switched my MH over to synthetic using a method I found that flushes out all old fluid. It will work on any auto transmission. I changed all the tranny fluid out in the used CR-V I bought for a toad like this.
It will take a couple of extra quarts but it gets the job done.
Tranny - flush out all old fluid

There is a machine garages use to change the tranny oil. Used it on my car once, seems to do the job. Kind of exchanges the old with new as it pumps the new stuff thru the system.
My mechanic says he can use it on my motorhome (17.7 qts, according to the manual).
He told me this is the easiest way....if I decided to dump the old oil via the tranny pan bolt, I will only get 8 or 9 quarts out of it...because the torque converter does not have a drain.

Using the flushing machines does not get the filter changed.
1991 model should have filter changed and the magnet checked.
