Okay, am I the only one that gets those mixed emotions when trading for a new unit? In our case we just traded our 06 Sydney Outback TT for a new Jayco TT. We were satisfied with the trade in allowance, got a decent price for the Jayco and got even better APR than what we had found. We like the new floor plan. We like the history of Jayco and we like trading in a bunkhouse model for one with some living space. So why the mixed emotions?
Simple. That Outback was the best memory maker we've ever owned. That unit kept us comfortable and dry in Myrtle Beach, at PCB, in Gatlinburg and in party spots like Comer, GA. We came back to her from nights on the beach at Saint George Island and she was there after trout fishing in Cleveland, GA.
The kids woke up to the smell of bacon frying outside and sat down to plates of cheesy scrambled eggs and biscuits. The DW and I would sit with our morning coffee outside and enjoy the stillness of a great COE cg on Lake Lanier.
I have no idea of who built that Outback, but they sure gave us a TT that made us a better family. My wish is that the new one brings us more of the same.

Yes, and the memories will not leak or need new tires.

We're waiting for our new Columbus fiver and trading in the Sabre. We REALLY like the Sabre and have had a lot of great times with it.
When we got home after making the deal, DW said, "you know, I'm going to miss this trailer". Yes, but as mentioned, we've got good memories and pictures.
Hope you enjoy your new Jayco.

You have just explained how I felt when we sold our fiver. DH was deployed and we were moving to Germany when we he got back, so it fell to me to sell it before he got back. A very nice couple looked at and said that it looked like it had never been used. It still even smelled new. In reality we used every weekend that MT weather allowed us to use it for over 3 yrs. When they pulled it away, I followed for a distance and cried the entire time home.
We are now downsizing to a truck camper (due to length constraints in WI) because we also pull DH's boat. Hopefully our new purchase will afford the same wonderful memories and adventures that our Salem did. Happy camping!

I am the same way - when we sold our two previous 2 TTs, I said that I was glad each time that they (the rigs) were going to good families! Yes, we're personifying an inanimate object, but our Ts gave us great times and took care of us well, so I hope the same fr them.
See ya at the crazy house!

I felt the same when we sold our last two TTs. We moved up as we needed more room, more space to be comfortable. I'll always have the great memories of the little 15' Sunline and 20' Zinger.

We donated our FW, the first trailer our kids knew, and bought a new one about a year and a half ago. I still miss it, but like Skipnchar said you keep the memories.

Yes, agree with the feelings.........over the years, I have bought a number of campers, people were trading up to bigger, better ones, fixed them up, used them, and then sold them to a family lower on the RV pole, than I , of course I would buy a bigger one, someone else was replacing, and so it went till I am here.
A much different way I found my curent one.
As I watched my "old" campers go down the road, I felt like I had just "adopted" out, a member of the family. ( Of course, I made sure they went to good homes, people with families, kids just wanting to spend quality family time) etc..........
Ahhhh yes, they grow up so fast.
