Does anyone have a definite preference between Blue Ox Aladdin v. Aventa for towing CR-V AWD? Aladdin is $50 more and aluminum but Aventa has ball in socket pivot joint. Choices, choices .....
Advice / comments appreciated!!!
Thanks.

We are using the Blue Ox Aventa LX with no problems. Cant compare to any other tow bar. Out purchase was based on the fact that our dealer only carried Blue Ox and it was on sale (good price for Canada).

The trouble with being punctual is that nobody’s there to appreciate it.

Aventa LX. Class IV tow bar, for use with towed vehicles up to 10,000 lbs. 10,000 lbs is way more than my rig says I can handle. Lots of safety space between my 2700 lb toad and that 10,000 lbs. I don't worry about anything breaking loose back there as far as the tow bar goes. Call it overkill, but it sure makes me comfortable!

I have an Aladdin and it works really well. It's a lot lighter to remove.

I have the Aventa, but would prefer something lighter. Too cheap to pay for it though.

We have the Aventa LX for the same reason...a huge margin of safety. We've towed our CRV without incident for almost 30,000km (18,000 miles) with our previous RV (Triple E Regency).

The Aladdin is rated at 7500 lbs, as of last year. The older ones were rated at 5000 lbs. The insert that goes in to the receiver is now steel instead of aluminum. Either bar will do the job. I have an Aladdin so can't say if the ball and socket is better.
