Currently on the road covering the Yukon Quest Dog Sled race, our intrepid Sue Thomas has been offering up pictures and text.
Thought that if you were of a mind...you might like to go peek.

Of course there must be an RV connection...a person might be looking at the roads and villages that they might be traveling thru this year.

Thanks for the link. Talked with my son last night, he & his family had spent part of the day to watch the Start watching them get started as they did last year. They live in the Fairbanks area now. Not at sure if by the Start Line or not.
With kids aged 5, 3 & 1, they did not spend a lot of time watching, but did get to see a few go by..

During my 2010 RV trip enroute to the Cassiar Hwy (via Prince Rupert) after leaving Dawson City following the Canada Weekend Holiday heading south on the Klondike Hwy, I always stopped at Braeburn Lodge since 1998 whenever I travel the Klondike Hwy and to get a bite to eat and chat with the staff (when they are not so busy) and the owner (whenever he is present)...
I found it pretty interesting they still had the 2010 Yukon Quest leaderboard on display well after the event was completed.... as in even numbered years Braeburn Lodge is the final checkpoint before the finish line in Whitehorse, and in odd numbered years the lodge is the first checkpoint of the race.

Holy Mackeral! The last time I was at Braeburn was in 1979. I sat at the long table with several other travellers. It has not changed since then.
We used to make a day trip to have a hamburger and cinnamon bun. One of them was big enough for the two of us and still take home enough for brekkie the next day.
Thanks for the memories.
Cheers
Chris
