Why not take it to a professional detailer and see what they can do with it? Would be cheaper than a new paint job. JMHO

I cannot believe how good it looks, there was a double fat pin stripe from front to back which had dried out and every time it was washed it would just streak down the side of the truck. He took water and a razor blade and very carefully removed it. Then when he cleaned and polished the truck you cannot tell where it was....All in all it is a beautiful job. He restored the tail lights and then did my wife's head lights on her van. It was 495.00 but worth every penny..... I had bought a truck cover so he and his helper helped me put it on......

Sounds like a well spent $495.00. And way cheaper than a paint job.

Eh. I'm painting my '97 w/ 210,000 mi....I'm cheap though. I'd go with paint, you'd only need to have the one panel that got egged fixed. Either that or go custom with some cool two-tone....

Professionally paint it, with a clear coat layer on top.

You will enjoy it for another 150,000 miles.
