Hello there planing on doing a trip from Buffalo down to Virginia Beach in March. Google takes me down on US-219 Was thinking a overnight stop in between possibly Altoona Pa. Is US-219 a hilly route or is there a better route down that way.

Don't know about routes, but I sure hope it's a ONE WAY trip!

Last year we had a group and we drove I90 to Erie, Followed I 79 down to Morgantown and then I 68 to 522 south to I 81, then I 66, and route 17 to I 95.
We felt there were less hills than on 219 and I 80 and then I 81.
Have driven both.

You'd only take 219 down to Dubois Pa, and yes there are some hills, but nothing real serious. I think 350 down through Phillipsburg to I-99 is worse and really that is not bad.
