as far as i know, there are no parks in sf itself, however, look up under pacifica, ca. we stayed in a fantastic place there right overlooking the ocean and rented a car from enterprise which was just around the corner. i cant remember the name. sorry. try woodalls.com.

That would be sanfranciscorvresort.com in pacifica.

Before we moved to the "outlaws" cul d' sac in Hayweird we stayed at Coyote Run in Morgan Hill south of San Jose.

Marin is so much nicer than the East Bay. Pacifica is usually cold and foggy. Have you heard of Samuel P. Taylor State Park? It is in the Marin redwoods near Lagunitas. I just looked it up and did not realize that so many state parks were slated for closure. This is one of the few remaining open due to the NP. I just checked and it appears all of their online reservations for weekends are taken but several weekdays are still open. Depends on how many days you have but the drive to the ferry in Larkspur is OK if it is not rush hour (Google says 30 minutes but I think it would take longer to go through the small towns on Sir Francis Drake Blvd.)The ferry ride is beautiful and you land at the Ferry Building and I don't think it is that far to China Town where you can get a cable car to Fisherman's Wharf. Check out the marine national park at the wharf. Enjoy the trip, SF is a beautiful city.

Samuel P Taylor will not fit large rigs.
no hookups of any kind and not an easy or short drive from the 101.
until April, the largest loop is closed.

Thank you all for your suggestions. It really helped. I have made our reservation at Novato Rv Park. Sarah was very helpful and nice. We are planning on 5 nights to see the area. We are very excited.

This forum is fabulous. Great to have RV friends!

This past summer we stayed at the Petaluma KOA which is 34 miles north of SanFrancisco. They have a tour for $79.00/person that takes you into SanFrancisco. Great tour. They take you to see the crooked road, china town, golden gate bridge, prisidio, city parks, the wharf where you can have lunch. For us it was the only way to see the city.
