Were looking to replace shower head in both RV and stick house. I know I have read a number of positive posts about Oxygenics but when I went to Amazon and read their reviews I got the impression that the new shower heads from Oxygenics are plastic and prone to breaking - they don't sell them anywhere nearby so I can't examine it. Anyone know if the newer Oxygenics are still good - is this a matter of replacing a $2 plastic part of should I find something more reliable?

Thanks for the replies -- anyone buy one recently? I got the distinct impression that the problems are with the newer units and some of the nasty reviews were from people who were very happy with their old ones but hated the new ones.

I have one and it is great. They come in chrome, white, and bronze. The thing I like about it is that it gives a good feeling shower and only uses 1 1/2 gallons per minute regardless of the pressure feeding it. I always use the water from the tank instead of the "city water" hookup and with my shur flow smart sensor pump it works the same each and every time, I can set the faucets the same each time. Here is a link to one.

I determined the GPM by turning the shower on full blast, using a stop watch, flowed it into a bucket and ran for one minute. At the end of one minute, took the shower head out of the bucket and measured the water, it was exactly 1 1/2 gallons. Had mine for at least 5 years.

We've had ours several years, and love it. It's built very well.

I bought one new at camping World. It leaked badly right out of the box, it was cracked at the seam it is plastic. They would not take it back because I had thrown the recipe away, my fault for that. I through it in the trash.
