It's ABS pipe, you can get it at Home Depot ect.

Ok, thanks!!

I actually looked for it at my local hardware...but they looked at my like I had two heads.

Must not be much of a hardware store.
ABS pipe is common...used in residential homes, commercial buildings etc.
Use ABS pipe, fittings and get ABS glue.......your new valve will be ABS and so will the slip-glue flanges you will need.

My camper developed a soft spot in the floor around the heat register.

I removed the underbelly and found that the floor consisted of very thin plywood over about 3" of foam board.

I installed those PT 2X6's from one side to the other, both front and rear of the register. I then cut a 24X24" of 3/4" plywood to go between the top of the new "joists" and bottom of foam board. I cut a 3X10" slot for heat register and remounted it.

Now its solid as a rock!!

What about using one of those valves that is made to connect just like the dump hose? They are usually used when the main valves leak but I would think you could put one on the discharge pipe and then just leave to main valve open. This is what I am going to do for my galley tank and the valve is a pain in the butt to get to.

ABS is not readily available everywhere. You do not see it in MD. PVC is the pipe readily available here. I imagine it varies by region.

How are you going to support the new valve? I think you're going to have to strap the pipe real tight so it won't shift each time you open\close the valve.

I have a suggestion. Just cut in a new valve in the new location and leave the old one there and open all the time.

I had thought about that, but the scientists at FR put the present valve where the handle is located going down.

I'm afraid if I leave it open going down the road it'll get damaged. I know your recommendation was probably to open it when I get to the camp site...but I'm sure I'd forget that part and closing it when leaving.

I want to mount the new one so that it pulls to the side versus down.
