Welcome to the club! We went through exactly the same scenario just a year ago. You will love using your "new" fiver. The only thing with ours was that we found the dealer we got it from didn't do a really great checkout on it. It was sold "as is" but even so we didn't get off the lot before finding we needed a complete brake/bearing replacement on all four wheels. They did the work with parts at cost. Nice of them but I wish they had checked before letting us hook-up and start driving. Good luck and again, welcome.

Ok.... So guess what guys... I am torn here. I just found a nice Damon Corp Hornet 285L 5ver model year 2000. It is in awesome shape and well taken care of with no signs of leaks. The owner kept it covered. It is a private deal for 6k$. The main difference on this one is that it is 2-3ft longer and it has a bunk. The homestead has the dinette and sofa jackknife . I have two girls and I am feeling they will like the bunk area better than being stuck in the dining area as they get older. I discussed with the DW and she thinks it's a better idea but I'd like some advise on the hornet.
I spent a good hour checking it out head to toe with it plugged in and everything working. I know they don't make them anymore, so I'm hoping someone can tell me yay or nay.... Also on the homestead deal, the dealer only took a deposit on the deal and we did not fill out any kind of PNS paperwork. We agreed I would pay the balance on next Thursday and that's when they would do papers. So I don't think I am legally bound to purchase it if I should decide on the bunk house.
