They make plastic polish for jeep windows it's a 2 or 3 step process.. check 4wd.com or summit racing... if you have scratches.. another trick is to use pledge furniture wax .. it fills in the small scratches works great but has to be reapplied every so often

About 1990 I had a brand new Dodge van, that we were sleeping in,at race tracks. I sprayed Off all around the windows. In the morning I had streaks of blistered paint running down the side of the van. Cost the insurance over $1000. to repaint the side. It will remove paint, and we spray it on our skin?

I'm gonna try this stuff the next time I want to remove some paint.

I remember we used to use women's hairspray to remove printers ink off of mainframe computers 40 years ago.

Hi All.

Myself, I would try some "Awsome" from the Dollar Store. I have used "Awsome" on a lot of areas of our Motorhome. You don't really have to many options anyways. The worst case, is that you might have to replace the Slidder and the Stationary Peice. Its pretty cheap to replace, and only take a couple of minutes to replace it. I replaced ours, inless tyhan 5 minutes, becasue we didn't like the Black Slider and the Balck Stationary Peice, so we installed the Clear Set, so now nothing blocks our view our of our screen door now. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

Appreciate all the ideas on things to try. My wee bit of google-searching came across somebody who suggested using a mix of water, vinegar, dish soap to clean it up as well.

I'll definitely give some of these suggestions a try and I'll try to report back in this thread if I find something that worked. As pointed out already though, if all else fails guess we may just replace it whenever it bugs us enough to do so.

And, by all means, if there are other ideas out there let 'r rip with those too.

Constructive disagreement is encouraged. It is how I/we learn!

Purple Power you can buy it at Walmart, not expensive, but a very good degreaser! Mask off any painted areas.

The best degreaser I've found and used is Greased Lightning. I've even cleaned the big Cat and its radiator in the coach with it. It also melts away that thick, sticky, kitchen grease buildup that Formula 409 and others won't even begin to touch.

But...

The Off! attacks the surface of plastics by etching it or semi-melting it. No cleaner on earth will fix that. It'll remove the Off!'s oily residue, but then you still have to buff out the damage or replace the item.
