cleaning batteries: i mix water with small amounts of baking soda. put in a spray bottle... easy to clean top and terminals by straying lightly. then wipe with clean paper towels.... being careful to wet paper towels down after, with more water and through away in dumpster. when rags/ paper dry out the acid concentrates and could cause spontaneous combustion...
when i worked for phone company we had a special pail to put rags in that was fire proof. we never left rags around to smolder or cause fires.

for filling batteries i poked a small diameter hose to a quart juice bottle through the cap.added distilled water and put hose end in each battery fill tube . every 6 months or so i would use a half gallon of water on 5 batteries.

i save a few gallons of condensate water from my airconditioners when its flowing good. also good for cleaning streak free windows.

when u play in the sand .... you can get stuck

To fill my batteries I "borrowed" my wife's turkey baster. Works great .... she's not real excited about it.

Hi All.

There a liitle spendy, but worth every penny. We have put "Battery Watering Systems" on our last two RV's. The first "Battery Watering System" was for a pair of 12 Volt Battries. The Second set was for a set of 6 Volt Battries. I did keep the 12 Volt Set when we sold our 5er. Some RV's, the Battries are really hard to get at, some are very easy to get to. But a "Battery Watering System" will take all the guess work out of watering your Battery Bank, and fills it perfectly every time. Your hands will never get dirty. Its Quick, its Simple and No Fuss, No Mess. Once you install the "Battery Watering System Caps", your done, at least until you have to replace your Battries. All you do is put the end of the "Battery Watering System" into a Bottle of Distilled Water, and squeeze, and your done. Once you learn how often you need Distilled Water, by the brand of Converter/Charger you have, or what ever you have, you will lean when you need to add water. In our 5er, we only needed to add Distilled Water only two or three times a year, and very little at that. We changed out the OEM Converter/Charger to an Intell 9145 Converter/Charger with the Charrge Wizard. We also changed out our Motorhome useless Megntec 45 amp Converter/Charger, because it took days to fully recharge a Battery Bank, even at the 50% Level. I installed the Intell 4655 amp Converter/Charger with the Built-In Charge Wizard. Once again, I don't need to check our Distilled Water very often. It all has to do with how your RV's Converter/Charger does, as to how much Distilled Water you will need. Some Converter/Chargers Boil the Battries to much, for one reason or another. Some are very easy on charging and boiliing off the Distilled water. We are for sure sold on this product. We would never own another RV with out a "Battery Watering System". And "NO" we are not any way connected to this product, except for being "Very Happy Customers". Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

I think my OEM converter/charger is a problem.
The (2) OEM factory new Interstate Group24 batts died inside of 2 years...

I've been told a good deep cycle should last 4-5 years, with proper maintenance.

I have for the past years put mineral oil in the top of the battery, no more mess. Take out about 2 to 3 OZ of water and put the oil back in. No more Backing Soda.
