My wife and I are thinking of going to Quartzsite the latter part of Jan/first part of Feb to see what all the fuss is about regarding the zillions of rock vendors there. We are avid rockhounders so this is like a call to Mecca for us. We aren't interested in boondocking and would like at least power and water.
Any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

Tons of RV parks in the Q. Problem with searching on here is that it's often misspelled Quartsite, Quartzite, Quartside or who knows what.

By Jan or Feb there should be thousands of different types of RV units there. Usually after Thanksgiving they really start to roll in.
Happy hunting.

Howdy!
When you get to Q make sure you visit the "Quartzsite Roadrunner Gem and Mineral Club". Get place for rock hounders.

Just added it to my favorites, thanks. I tried to see a way to contact them in order to sign up and perhaps get more info in field trips but I didn't see any way to do that. Do I have to do that all when I get there?

We have wintered at Q several times and the one thing that keeps bringing us back is the Gem and mineral club. I don't know about signing up on line as we do it in person. I've never known them to turn anyone away for the trips.
