We are thinking about vacationing in or around the Outer Banks in NC next summer. We stayed at Pirateland in Myrtle Beach a few years ago, and would like to find a similar campground in NC. Traveling with 13 yr old dd, and 2 young labs.

Do you have any suggestions of campgrounds in or near the Outer Banks?

I can't speak from experience, but as I understand it, the CGs up near the Outer Banks won't be as "Kid Friendly" as Pirateland was. But, the ocean should be more than enough fun for you family.

I'd check with RVParkReviews.com and see what other folks have said regarding the CGs in that area.

Take a look at Camp Hatteras or Ocean Waves Campground. No personal experience on either location, so you may want to search for reviews on them.

I love that area and would like to get back there myself.
