Has anyone given consideration to a sudden problem that would prevent you from getting home? EMP? Solar event? Yes, far fetched, but remotely possible nonetheless.
Do you travel with a Bug Out Bag (survival kit)?
Weapon?
Can you walk home from where you are camping?
Just curious. Thanks.

Since I'm always prepared to stay alive for a few days whether traveling or at home, I never give "bugging out" another thought.

A person can walk home from anywhere he can drive to. It just takes time.

I kinda remember "no one gets out alive" so why prolong the inevitable? Am I suicidal? No, but I won't miss this life much either. And the ones I really love will be "there" with me. So, what's not to want?

I never thought about it, but I guess our toad is our bug-out bag.
Several years ago we had an accident and wrecked our TT and TV. We rented a car, filled it with the contents of the TT an drove home. Fortunately we weren't too far from home.

Before this gets too far - for the purposes of my "what if" scenario, EMP or solar event would leave you - and everyone elses - electronics useless. So you are traveling 60MPH down I-whatever, 200 miles from home, your RV and every other vehicle on the interstate fails to continue to operate. Now, what would you do. This could be from a solar flair or a scud fired off a container ship near the coast. I don't want to argue about the cause, just the after-effect.

My take on all this Prepper nonsence
It's the end, you crawl out of your hole.
Nothing left, no doctors, hospitals, dentists etc...
You're back in the dark ages.
Life expectancy has dropped from 80 to 30
You've already lived past your expiry date.
Oh joy, great fun awaits.
