Despite being long-time RVers and full-timers for several years, we've never been able to make a rally with any group. This summer both FMCA and Escapees are hosting rallies in Gillette, WY, one of which we could attend.
Opinions from those in the know about which might be the best?
Thanks.

I have been to two FMCA rally's. Perry, GA and Pomona, CA. Really enjoyed both.
I have never been to a Escapees rally, but being open to a variety of RV's, might make it interesting.

Belong to both, been to both and the ONLY one we will attend today is the Escapees. The FMCA is run by a bunch of "blue hairs" that refuse to bring the association into the 21st century or acknowledge that there are young families that would be good members. The Escapees are much friendlier, acknowledge the existence of younger RVers and try to make all feel welcome. We feel the FMCA is a dying organization, the way it is being operated and will be letting our membership lapse, after 20+ years.

Well, the impressions of FMCA as an organization are interesting, but don't suggest to us which rally offers the greatest number of seminars, entertainment, and vendors.
Anyone else?
Thanks!

If you have a motorhome, then the FMCA will "probably" have more motorhome specific seminars, but fewer seminars that cover the RV lifestyle. For the most variety of seminars, I think the Escapees or Good Sam rallies have FMCA beat, hands down.
Remember, FMCA wants NOTHING to do with RVers unless they have a motorhome and they made that very clear at their last annual meeting.

Thanks, "Texan", your reply is what I'm looking for. We do have a motorhome, but we'd much prefer the general experience if more seminars are offered.
Thanks again.

We have done GS and Escspees. We go to several Escspee (SKIP) rally's a year. They cover every aspect of the RV life and different RV's.
They have many special interest groups. FMCA and GS do nothing for us of interest.

FMCA to us has more varied seminars and vendors for the motorhome owner. Quite frankly Escapees and Good Sam Rallies seem to recycle the same seminars year after year. We quit traveling any distance for Escapades after 6 of them, since the number of vendors seemed to be decreasing and seminars were rehashes of the last one. Good Sam Rallies have been overboard with Camping World product sales and Camping World RV Sales with no outside RV vendors. This past year we didn't attend any national rallies and opted instead to attend regional FMCA Rallies in IL and VT and had a great time at both. We also spent about $1000 with vendors at each rally. We will and have attended Freightliner Custom Chassis Rallies when close to our plannned route.
