I joined first of the year. Got my membership packet first of the week. The catalog they sent me is 2012. When I questioned this they informed me that they sent what they had, but they had just recieved the 2013. They would be happy to send me the 2013 if I would send them $5 to pay the postage. Am I wrong to think they should eat the postage to send me what I should have recieved in the first place??
Would like other feedback before I go off on the CSR.

I download the catalogs from online - when available. For me I find it more convenient to search through the PDFs.

$5 really doesn't sound like enough to get upset over, especially if they have a downloadable pdf version of the catalog.

Then send the OP $5 so he can get the catalog that he should have received in the first place....

That's just cheesy!

It's like subscribing to a newspaper and getting last month's edition... or buying a calendar and receiving last year's....and then asking for you to pay the cost of getting the right ones!

While it may seem trivial to some, it really does tell a not-so-favorable tale re. customer service. I'd call again and make the same request, and if you get the same answer ask to speak to a supervisor. I can't believe the company would back such a ludicrous demand up.

You didn't get what you paid for, and you should....and if the "$5.00" thing comes up again, tell 'em that when you signed up you were promised a packet. Therefore you already paid for postage and you're not paying again just because they put the wrong thing in the envelope.

Sounds kind of petty to me to NOT get 50% off camping for a year instead of paying an extra 5.00 (which you do not HAVE to pay at all). There are probably hundreds of others who joined before the new catalogs arrived and who also received "what they had". Would you complain about buying a new car just before the new models came out and then want them to upgrade to the new model for free?

PA costs a whole $44/yr. 50% off at affiliate CG's.

The 'paper catalog' does NOT stay current. So you will need to check if CG is still accepting PA Discounts anyway.

You have internet access........so go on-line and check out the CG's
in advance PA CG's
