OK we have been to Myrtle Beach 3 different times and Love it down there at Ocean Lakes camp ground thats right on the Beach. But have thought about go to the Outer Banks. Myrtle Beach is a 14 hour drive for us and Outer Banks would be 17 alittle farther but not much! Which one? that is the question!

Two different places altogether. OBX is way more laid back vs MB. Ocean Lakes is also way more, lets just say… active vs. any CG in the OBX. IMO I would take the OBX any day over MB. I have stayed at Ocean Lakes and Pirate Land. Nice CG’s and beaches/area but a little to crazy at times.

The OBX are quite laid back alright. You'll be on your own pretty much.

As others stated, the two areas are entirely different with the OBX being much slower paced (a good thing IMO). What activities do you enjoy? We live in northeastern NC and may be able to offer some suggestions.

That is really an easy decision based on your desires. If you are looking for action MB is the way to go. If you want tranquility OBX is the winner.
