My family is looking for a very nice campground near DW. We typically stay at Fort Wilderness but they are booked solid. I am looking for someone who has experienced a campground nearby and not one that is found on Google. They all look good online but when you get there it's a whole different story.
Thanks!

Try Tropical Palms in Kissimmee. Very nice park close to Disney and Old Town. They run a shuttle to Disney as well.

If you're Thousand Trails members, the Orlando/Clermont is decent. We camped in their "D" loop which is a bit wooded. The rest was pretty open/field-like (not my cup o' tea).

There are 2 nice campgrounds about 15 miles from DW on I-4 and rt 27.
Theme world
And the KOA is next door. We stayed at Theme World and it was a nice place.

We stay at Tropical Palms if not FW. Really nice place; close to amusement park, groceries, restaurants and other entertainment. Easy jump onto I-4 to Disney, Universal or Sea World.

Encore has a couple of parks around that area which are pretty nice. Fort Wilderness is also an option if you have little ones, a little pricey but you get the complete disney experience. There are also some small mom and pop campgrounds that are really cheap and have full hookups but you have to search for them because they normally cater to the winter migration and downscale during the summer.
