Forget about bed bugs. This is just plain nasty.
Again you ask why I don't like hotels?
Of course, how many campgrounds have their own water supply system?

Not to mention the overnight meth labs that are happening in hotel/motel rooms across our country.
They come in late, cook up a batch, contaminate the whole place, then are out by morning.
That leftover residue is not good for you, the next person who rents the room....Bio Hazard?

Why was the lady's body in the tank? Was it murder, was it suicide?
In my region, all dangerious water sources are fenced, sealed and at times, even double locked. Some even have double protection layers - like my home's above ground swimming pool. If one wants to get into my pool, they have to really try. Thus, eliminating the typical "accidental accidents" risk.
With above in mind, why was the lady's body in the water tank? To eliminate risk of happening again, can all DW water tanks in the region be locked down?

The water tanks are on the roof of the hotel. How she died and got into the tank is still be investigated. How she got into the tank is also being investiaged since it would have been really hard to get up on the roof and opening the top of the tank and going thru the small opening.

She was probably going into the tank to swim
I remember my Dad telling me about doing that when he was a kid, and lived in Bronx, NY..
It also brings back that story of the guy who fell into the Beer Vat.....he drowned, after he made several attempts to dive back down into the beer

there is hotel security video of her on the elevator looking scared, looking around, like someone was after her. this hotel is in a bad neighborhood not far from skid row. Not a place for a vacation. Just shows how bad the water usually is that you can't even tell there is a dead body in it.

I'm wondering if the tanks were for a fire sprinkler system and not for drinking water? That arangement was common back in the early 1900's.

No - they're water tanks that supply the water to the plumbing inside a cheap hotel ("The Cecil") in a semi-sleezy area of downtown L.A.
And, Yes - the residents have been *drinking* it for a couple of weeks now.
Google "The Cecil Hotel" for - it's "Long, Dark History".
Not exactly a family get-away spot, LOL!.
