We are making a road trip to pick up our fiver from KZ after having some repairs completed. Can anyone suggest a nice campground in that area for a 2 day stay? We should be going that way in the month of April.

The Elkhart County Fairgrounds which is in Goshen is a good place to stay - some others may not be open, depending on how early in April you are going.

Pokagon State Park, near Angola, IN, I believe has one year round campground. East of Elkhart and just off the Indiana Toll Road. Perhaps this may do if nothing else available. Hope this helps.

Vaughn,

April is still iffy in this area.
We have stayed at several, but never in April. It was usually September or October. Goshen County Fairgound has been mentioned. There is Elkhart Campground Linkand the two Shipshewana Campgrounds, but unfortunately, I can't remember which we used for that rally.

Pokagon State Park is on my list for a winter trip, but haven't made it yet.

Potato Creek State park is a little more to the west, but it has good reviews.

Is not the K-Z factory out on US-20, eastern edge of Middlebury?

We've stayed at the Middlebury Exit KOA north of town. It was adequate. I don't know what you mean by "nice" or if KOA facilities meet that standard for you.

Eby's Pines is more of a family vacation type of park, with lots of people coming in for the whole season, while the KOA is more of a "stay here overnight or a couple days" kind of park.

The KOA opens April 1st. Eby's Pines has winter operations with special rates, but by April might be back open to the "off-season" level of operation.

Elkhart County Fairgrounds is big (200+) and should have plenty of room unless there is an "event" or a RV rally. I've done a bit of overnighting in fairgrounds RV parks, but not this one. None so far have been what I could call "nice" but no worse than a lot of city and county parks, or roadside commercial RV parks.
